tigation Is in progress here under
the direct supervision of the depart-
ment of commerce and labor which
will result la the deportation of
thousands of undesirable foreigners
within the next few months.
The crusade Is the carrying out
of the recent order of the fedcrnl
authorities who will use deportation
means to check the growth of an-
anfV.t sentiment and to rid the
country of the burden of taking
care of Ignorant foreigners.

Nellie Plasuolta aged 17 died onrly
today from the offtcts of strychnine
poisoning ndmlnlstered by her sweet-
heart Leo Wojelnskl.
The drug had been mixed with
leu erenm which Wojelnskl had given
hor. AVhen Wojelnskl learned of the
girl's death ho took a dose himself
and died nu hour later.
Ills parents had objected to his
marrying tho girl which Is the sup-
liosed reason for his actions.

lision with the Hidcyoshl Maru early
today near Hakodate the most nortn-
cm seaport of Jnp.m.
The captain of the Matsu Maru and
the majority of her two hundred an0
forty-four passengers and forty-three
of the crew perished.
The Hldeyoshl Maru and another
steamer rescued what few survivors
escaped.
