WILL GET STATEHOOD.
Judge Tarsney Says Two Territories
Will Be Admitted.
Oklahoma and Indian Territory will
bo admitted to tho union at tho pres-
ent session of congress in tho opinion
of John C. Tarsnoy former Judgo of
tho fcdoral court in Indian Territory
and once member of congress from
this district. Judgo Tarsnoy has just
returned from the national capital.
"I entertain ho doubt" said Judgo
Tarsney at tho Coates houso last
night "that Oklahoma and Indian
Territory will bo admitted as a state.
Of course- it 13 Impossible to say Just
how soon this Is coming or what tho
attendant circumstances may be. Tho
trouble now Is over tho Now Mexico-
Arizona feature. Tho members of con-
gress seem pretty generally convinc-
ed that Oklahoma and Indian Terri-
tory descrvo admission.
But It may bo that when tho pres-
ent bill Is submitted to tho houso It
may bo divided Into two bills ono
dealing with Oklahoma and Indian
Territory and tho other with Now
M'oxlco and Arizona. Or tho samo
thing may happen when It readies
tho senate It scorns to bo tho feeling
of course that tho scnato Is going to
havo Its way about tho matter and
what this action may bo is to bo
shown later. But as I havo said In tho
end I anticipate- that Oklahoma and
Indian Territory will bo brought In-
to tho unloa." Kansas City Journal.
