from Norfolk roports that tho old Do-
minion Hncr Hamilton and tho Clydo
liner Saginaw woro In a collision and
that a numbor of tho passengers woro
drowned.

twenty passengers. Tho Hamilton
carried a full crow and moro than 100
passongors. Soon after passing the
Jorsoy coast the Hamilton ran Into
fog. which lasted all night. It Is be-
lieved that this fog was responsible
for the nccldent. The Hamilton was
going at throe-quartns speed off Hog
Island whan the passengers were sud-
denly thrown from their berths and

Hamilton was twenty-nine. This re-
port places tho number drowned nt
thirty. Hog Island oft which tho
wreck occurred Is on tho coast of
Virginia a short distance above Cape
Charles.
