E. C. Brant Caught.
E. C. Brant the fellow charged
with the forgery of a check on Rat
cliff Pros night before last was ar-
rested at Wagoner last night by City
Marshal Bud Ledbetter. After es
caping from the window of the res'
tauraut here Brant made his way to
Adair where ho boarded a train and
got off at Wagpner. He evidently
had slept all day yesterday as he
had not been located by the -police.
Ledbetter went down last night and
was told by the city marshal that he
was not in Wagoner but not being
quite satisfied went through some of
the gambling dens and soon found
his man at a poker table and arrested
hi in and brought him home and
lodged him in the 17. S. holdover.
Brant was searched after arriving
here and about Jl!3 was found in one
of his socks the balance bad evident-
been spent. An astrologer's chart
was also found in Brant's pocket
which he had secured from some for-
tune teller and it stated that he
might get into jail and that he would
be twice married. The former has
already come true but as to getting
married twice that will have to be
postponed for the present.
AFRAID OF SECTION 39.
Does that Section Mean Min
eral Leases?
for good and all it is none of our
business.
Respectfully.
E. M. Lajjdrum.
Our impression on reading
section 39 was that it had refer-
erenee to improvements purchased
from the Cherokee nation known
as "intruder places" on which
there is a balance due the Ohero
kee nation though the ' language
is capable of a construction wider
in its aplication.

Mr. D. M. Marrs Vinita I. T.
Dear Sir: Will you pleaBe in
form rue through the columns of
I he Chieftain the meaning or
construction placed by the com
mittee on section 39 of tne new
treaty where it says all convey
ances etc. shall serve as a guaran
tee to him of the title of the land
against all claims other than
those arising tinder the laws etc. of
the tribal authorities. Does it
mean that perchance a man takes
an allotment on lands heretofore
leased by the tribal authorities
the lease holds good and he loses
his allotment? v
If it does it is a dangeroug
clause and should be detested if
possible or amended. That and
the disposition of the high school
building' and grounds are the most
unfortunate and unjust sections of
the agreement.

To Bare fiooa Teeth
All persons old and young should
liave their teeth examined once every
bIx months by a competent-dentist. De-
cay will he preseut and tartar forc-
ing which nothing but a thorough ex-
amination will reveal. Professional
service rendered in time means high-
class work less pain and great econ-
omy. A tooth filled when decay Is
slight will not be sensitive the opera-
tloa not long and the filling lasting
because the operator has more and
better structure to work on. lie is en-
abled to make the walls of the cavity
thicker and stronger and with slight
danger of exposing the nerve the dread
nnd fearof all when having- teeth filled.
Have your teeth attended to in time.
Do not procrastinate. Give the dentist
good tooth-i tmcture to work upon
and he will render you excellent serr-
lve. One ferson in 100 has good teeth ;
99 persons in 100 could have good teeth
with the proper attention. II. G. Yor-
hies D. D. S. In Woman' Home Companion.
Let us figure with you on your
next order. We can make the
price low and the quality high.
