self El Auuila the Eagle is of a race now scarcely more than
a memory the Montezumas the ancient Aztec Kings of Mexico.

Capitalists
W. B; l'atton who for about a year
has been the owner of the Vinita Ab-
stract company on Friday night sold
his interestslto a number of local cap-
italists. The new company has been
reorganized with a capital stock ot
$5000 and will take charge of the
books tomorrow. The name will not
be changed. The president of the new
company will be John S. Thomasor
while among the stockholders are the
following well-known business men:
Hutier & Bonfoey M. F. Knight
Oliver Hagby A. L Churchill L. V.
Humngton Scott & Leforce C. S.
Avery 0. C. Roberts and Gaylord N.

one of the front rooms' of the new

B. A. McParland today offered his
resignation as cashier of the Cherokee
Notional bank in order to take charge
of the abstract company. Mr. McFar-
land is a stockholder in the company
and will act as its secretary and gen-
eral manager devoting his entire time
to the business. He has been in
charge of the bank but a short time
and his resignation will not take ef-
fect until the return of the president
J. W. Orr. Mr. McFarland is an ex-
perienced abstractor having been in
the business many years.
