About Grass
A Heart to Heart TalK About
Sowing Grass Seed
Everybody loves to see fresh growing grass
whether it be a snatch of dooryard a big lawn or
a great meadow. Grass is better than weeds and
should displace the weeds. Now is the time to sow
the seeds. Sow your weed patch. The weeds will
protect the grass through the winter and next
spring you will have a perfect stand. I have the
best seeds that can be had.

Mrs. Croninger Sand.
Mrs. Anna G. Croninger the wife of
C. J. Croninger died yesterday even-
at " o'clock. Mrs. Croninger was born
In Newburg X. Y. and has lived in
Vinita for the past seven years. She
was a splended woman in ever way
and always ready and willing to lend
a helDinir Iiand to those who needed
it. She is a great loss to the coreun-
ity because she was a public spirited
woman and her Influence for goog was
far-reaching and widely felt and
appreciated. She was a member of
St. Johns Episcopal church and pres-
ident of the Guild at the time of her
death. Through her untiring efforts
much has been accomplished in the
past year by this organization. She
leaves a husband and three boys in her
immediate family and also her father
Mr. and Mrs. Gorsline and her sister
Mrs. Sank Wade. The funeral services
was held this afternoon at St Johns
Episcopal church at 3:30 o'clock.
Called A Pastor.
The congregational meeting held
last night by the the members of the
Presbyterian Church voted unanim-
ously to extend a regular call to Rev.
G. W. Snodgrass for permanent pastor
of the church at this place. Mr. Snod-
grass has been with the church in
Vinita since the beginning of the
year and is an acceptable pastor and
' preacher. He will doubtless accept
the pastorate and be installed some
time this fall. The church is in a
nmsnerous condition has good con-
!j gregations at all its services and has
I a flourishing Sunday School. The
J I membership is about 150 and the
' church has a new 83500 brick building
' with modern equipments for Sunday
g ' School and young peoples societies
heated by furnace and also a comfort
able parsonage.
Captured a Gang of Crooks-
The officers arrested three more
suspected '-crooks" this morning who
have been operating in connection
with the gamblers at the different
fairs. Two of the ring leaders made
their escape last night. These par-
ties have been seen in Vinita at dif-
ferent times for ttie past month or
more and the officers are of the opin-
ion that some of these parties are re-
sponsible of. the thieving that has
been going ?n here of late. An effort
is being made to capture the ones
who eseaped as they are believe 1 to
be the ring leaders. They now have
seven under arrest. The contents of
their grips prove that they are of dis-
reputable characters.
