Authentic information has been
received that the agents of the
Delaware Indiana are selecting the
choice lands along Grand River
for their allotments or a portion
of them in anticipation that the
treaty will be ratified and that
they will receive their 157600
acres in addition to their regular
allotment. Besides the choice lots
along Grand Tviver they have al-
ready selected some the best lands
in other portions of the nation.
When we use the word "they" we
do not mean the Delaware Indians
but certain of their attorneys and
agents who hope to grow rich out
of the distribution of lands.

SHAKESPEARE
MaJT Merwln'a lecture Furnished
New Ideas For Students.
Major Merwin's lecture on
Shakespeare -at ' the Methodist
church entertained a large aud-
ience last night. The students of
the immortal bard who were pres-
ent were furnished with new ideas
regarding the works of the literary
master. The speaker's subject
naturally is one that Cannot foe
covered in an evening's discouri-e
and he was compelled to view the
works oly superficially. He told
a witty etory of his boyhood uys
making his heroine one Mary Ann
the climax convulsing his bearers
with laughter. The Majer is
brimful of such stories but found
time te relate only one.
It appears to us that no other
Shakespearian scholar has sound-
ed suofa depths of feeling aod pas-
sion as Major Merwin interp reted;
no other man we bav ever
heard smites his audience with
such a rush of kindling -energy.
His illustrations and interpreta-
tions aie so profuse they overbrim
their banks with their fullaess and
seem never to run to waste. Mr.
Merwin carries the treightage of a
great purpose from start to finish;
every sentence he uttered was sur-
charged with thought. .His fin-
ished figures surprised and stimu-
lated b's bearers and be command-
ed the rapt attention of his aud-
ience. Knlghttville Ind. Apr.-22 188.

If a meilal were
"awarded for the
most perfect tem-
perance medicine
prepared for fam-
ily use it would
undoubtedly be
given to Doctor
Pierce's Golden
Medical Discov-
ery. This medi-
cine which i
entirely non-alcoholic
and non-
narcotic pro-
duces actual
strength instead
of the simulated
strength which re-
sults from the use
of " whiskey med-
icines" or nerve
numbing narco-
tics. The many and
remarkable cures
resulting from the
alcohol
use of "Golden Medical Discovery"
prove the soundness of Dr. Pierce's the-
ory that in these days of haste and hurry
the stomach is the common breeding
place of disease. These cures also prove
the soundness of Dr. Tierce's reasoning"
that " diseases which originate in the
stomach must be cured through the
stomach." The " Discovery " is a medi-
cine for the stomach and other organs of
digestion and nutrition. When the
stomach is healthy the blood made in
the stomach is healthy and sufficient in
quantity to nourish the nerves and
strengthen the system to resist or throw-
off disease. Nature develops life sus-
tains life and preserves life by nourish-
ment. Vital failure comes when th?
bodv is starved either from lack of focxi
or the inability of the digestive and nu-
tritive organs to extract the nouritbment
from the fwl taken into the stomach.
"Golden Medical Discovery" takes ttie
obstacles from Nature's way so that she
Cat sustain life by bcr own methods.
Pr. Pierce's rleasant Tcllcts assist the
action of " Goiden Medical Discovery."
