1. "Come to the bouse of the Lord nt
Jhrusalora to keep the Passover onto Mm
Lord God of Israol. " Thin was the mes-
sage of Hexektab a king who did right In
the sight of the Lord (chapter xxU &) to
all Israel and Judah regarding them at
one people. Although longdtvidod Into
tiro nations they are one In His sight and
ball yet be one In the eyes of all nations
(Ezok. xutIL 81 3). HoeekVnh repaired
the house of tbs Lord and restored the
worship. He wrought good and right and
truth before the Lord bis Ood and did ot-
ery work with all bis heart and prospered
(chapter xxxl SO CI). He would have all
Israel remember thoir dellveranoe from
Egypt and rejoice in the Lord and sorvo
8 8. "The king bad taken counsel and
his princes nod all the oongrpgutlon in
Jerusalem to keep the Passover In the sec-
ond month." Although the first month
wm the regular time for the fnast there
was provision In the law to keep It In tba
eoond month If necessary (Ex. xll 18;
Nam. Ix 10 11). l'looo and time and
form aro not so Important In God's sight
as a heart thnt is right with Him. Evon
feasts and Snbbatbs are a shadow of things
to oumo. Christ Is the reality of all and
apart from 111m nothing Is ruul (Col. 11
4. "And the thing pleased tho king and
all tho congregation." It Is written of
David In II fciain. Ill 8fl thnt "whaUoovor
the king did pleased all tbe people."
When king and pooplo plcaso each othe r
and all togt-thur ploaxo Ood that Is surely
a sanil nf tho kingdom of Ood on earth.
Thus It shall be when Israel shall have be-
oonio u righteous nation with the Christ
the Son of David as thoir King (Ex.
xxxvll 24 25).
6. "Mnko proclamation throughout all
Israel to keep the Passover unto the Lord
God of Israel nt Jerusalem." This feast
"emnniumornting tho groat deliverance of
Israel out of tho bondage of Egypt by the
mighty power of Ood was to bo kept every
year but in the Old Testament wo bavo
an account of only Ave after the first one
in Ex. xit These rooorda are found in
Num. lx Josh v II Chron. xxxv Ezra
vi and In our lesson. Tho greatest Pass-
over In the New Testament is recorded In
Lake xxli 14 15 and In tho other gospels
s having been kopt by our Lord and His
apostles on the night beforo He was sacrl- i
flood for us as onr Passover. Ho spoke at I
that time of a future fulfillment In tba
kingdom of Ood (Luke xxli 16) and in-
stituted the Lord's suppor as a memorial
of His death to bo kopt by His redeemed
till He shall come again.
6. "Ye children of Israel turn again
unto tho Lord Ood of Abraham Isnao and
Israel and He will return to toe remnant .
of you." Lotters from a king to his poo-
plo urging them to turn to tho Lord Ood
would bo a most unusunl ooenrrenco in
our timo. Evon if a church is in need of
funds It is more customary to turn to
some wealthy pooplo or to some worldly
way than to the Groat Head of the church.
7. "Bo not ye like your fathers and like
your brethren which trespassed against
the Lord God of thoir fathers. " Their sin
Is briefly stated In Jer. II 13 "My people
have oommltted two evils; they bave for-
saken me the fountain of living waters
nd bewed them out cisterns broken cis-
terns that can hold no water." Thus they
changed their glory for that which oould
not profit. The Lord was their judge and
lawgiver and king but they turned their
backs upon Him and preferred their own
way. Is there any analogy now?
8. "Yield yourselves unto the Lord and
serve the Lord your God." The margin
says "Give the band unto the Lord." In
Rom. vi 13 it is " Ylold yoursolves unto
Ood as those that are alive from tbe dead. "
As unsaved sinners all wo are asked to do
Is to reoolve Christ.
9. "The Lord your Ood Is gracious and
merciful and will not turn away His face
from you If ye return unto Him." His
name In Ex. xxxlv 0 It "Tbe Lord the
Lord Ood merciful and graoloos' long
suffering and abundant In goodness and
truth." Read also verse 7. Ha says In
Hal 0: "I amine Lord I ohange. not."
be made from
in neo. xin o" no is - josus const sua
same yesterday today and forever. " He
is not willing that any should perish has
provided eternal redemption for ail and is
ever saying "Him that oometh to me I
will in nowise oast out" (John vl 87).
10. "So the posts passed from oity to
city but tbey laughed them to soorn and
mooted them" that la many or JSpnralm
Monasseh and Zebulun did. The final tes-
timony oonoernlng Judah Is "Tbey mock'
ed tbe messengers of Ood and despised His
words and misused His prophets until tbs
wrath of the Lord arose against His peo
ple till there was no remedy" (II Chron.
xxxvL 10). Tbis is tbe carnal mind whlob
Is enmity against Ood and is ever tbe
same but these were not tbe heathen who
never beard of Ood. Tbey wero the people
of Ood for whom Ho bad done more tban
for any nation on earth. See II Tim. HI
11. "Nevertheless divers of Asber Ma
nassoh and of Zebulun humbled themselves
and came to Jerusalem." When Paul
Drenched In Rome some believed the
things wblob were spoken and some be
lleved not (Acts xxvill 4). So It ever
has been and will be till the end of this
age. Tbe parables of tbe sower tbe tares
the mustard seed and the leaven or Matn.
xlll all teach this as also the plain in-
struction to both prophets and apostles In
Isa. vl D; Jer. I 19; Ezok. ill 7-; Matb
x 16. The messenger of Ood may always
be sure that some will receive the message
and that the word of the Lord will never
return to Him void.
13. "Also In Judah tbe hand of Ood
was to give them one heart to do the ooui
mandinont of tbe king and of the princes
by tbe word of the Lord." It is God who
worketh. He dootb according to His will
Ho guides His willing people and makes
even tho wrath of man to praise Him.
13. "And there assembled at Jerusalem
ruucj) people ta keep tbe feast of unleav-
ened bread. " It Was a very great coDjre
gatlon so those who would not oome hurt
none but themselves. bon God Is work-
ing thoso who will not fall in with Hiui
lose tbe benefit to themselves but the
work goes on. There was great glmlnesa
and great joy in Jerusalem and their
prayers were heard In heaven (verses 81
26 27). Their joy In tho Lord led to tbe de-
struction of idols and it was at this timo
that the bni7.cn serpent that Moses bad
made was broken in pieces for they had
been burning incense to it (ohnpter xxxl
1 and II Kings xviii 4). Whon the Lord
U honored Idols cannot be tolerated.

If the illustrious Washington
correspondent of the South Mc-
Alester Capital would take the
trouble to post himself as to which
one of the territory judges will
take Judge Springer's place as
chief justice of the appellate court
of the Indian Territory he would
find that the position would go to
the present judge holding the old-
est commission. It is a matter
fixed by law and not a political
matter at all. '

A 'racked house greeted the Beach

well amused for a couple oi nours.
