ADDRESS ON EDUCATION.
By Honorable Wade Stanfkld U. S.
Commissioner
Last Sunday evening at 8:30 p m
a large and appreciative congregation
assembled at the A. M. E.' church to
hear an address on education and
morality by the Hon. W. S. Stan-
Held of Vlnlta. Illti address was
simple and profound in thought. He
said Id part that an education of the
head without an honest and virtuous
heart is fallacy and will fall and
perish like the wall of Jericho. He
spoke of many things which bad re-
tarded the progress of our race and
also other races and properly pre-
scribed for hs healing of the nations
and the audience sat at bis feet
learning of bU wisoom like the
students at the fet of Socrates the
great philosopher. Prof. W.O. White
principal of our school and Mrs. J. H.
Naves read 'interesting papeis on
education Mrs. Ella Hill sang a
sweet solo that was highly appreciat
ed ty toe audience.
