Tbe Muskogee Athletics admiois-
tercd a merciless defeat to tbe VinUa
boys at Muskogee yesterday. After
the two teams had put In aa hour or so
warailtiK up a corpulent being wad-
dled out to the center of -the dia-
mond and called "plaj ball" upon
wblcb the Muskogee athletics rao out
to their different positions and open-
ed up on the boys. The hope of win-
ning soon faded from the minds of
the few "faithfuls' who followed
their gladiators in Blue and Gray to
Muskogee for it was seen that the
corpulent Individual called the um-
pire didn't intend for Vinita to win
for unless they struck at the ball
when Muskogee was at bat he announ-
ced in a shrill voice that it was a ball
so the Vinita pitcher had to put It
right over the plate or give the batter
a nass to first base on balls. It was
also an off day for Vinita and it is
safe to say they wouldn't have won
the gam3 with a fair umpire while
the Muskogee boys were hitting "em
to the woods knocking four over the
fence during the game. The Musko-
gee boys will be here next Monday to
play the fourth game of the season
with the Vinita team The athletes
will "get theirs" that day In a fair
uame of ball. Tbe Muskogee team
plays clean ball and didn't indorse
tbe umpiring yesterday.
The Vinita IXL ball club' and tbe
Mustangs from Okoee had a bout at
the north park yesterday the home
team saving the honor of tbe town to
some extent. The score stood 6 to 4.
