fever for the last few weeks is still

Miss Agnes Ritchie returned last
night from Claremore where she had
been to enroll as a teacher.
Mrs. Dougherty who was overcome
by heat last Saturday at the Golden
Rule store died this morning at the
Palace hotel. . -
Judge D. W. Henry and Judge
George Crane of Terre Haute Ind.
spent today in this city on business.
James S. Davenport went to Lincoln-
ville this morning to speak at a big
picnic at that place.
Senator Gore went to Tulsa this
morning and will return on the 6:53
train this evening.
Jack Martin was called to Kansas
City last night on account of the ser-
ious illness of his father.

been visiting relatives in this city re-

Picture Shows and Skating Rinks.
Be it Ordained by the Mayor and
Councilmen of the City of Vinita Ok-
lahoma: Section 1. That Section One of an
Ordinance of the City of Vinita Okla
homa number Seven Hundred and
Fortj-Nine entftted: "An Ordinance
prohibiting certain places of amuse
ment bfling kept open and certain
games 011 the Christian Sabbath day"
be and the same is hereby amended
as follows:
The words "Moving Picture Shows"
are hereby stricken out of said ordin
ance and the following added. This
Ordinance shall not apply" to moving
picture shows and skating rinks pro-
vided however that all moving pic
ture shows shall exhibit pictures of
suitable subjects for the Christian
Sabbath day only and shall not on said
