Irrigation Congress Convenes
Oklahoma City Dec 5 The nation-
al Irrigation congress convened here
in annual convention today. The
principal speakers at the first session
were George E. Barstow of Barstow.
Texas who said that the national
congress should make reclamatiou by
draining a part of reclamation instead
of reclamation by irrigation alone.
Another speaker was Dr. J. H. North
president of.the North Dakota Agri-
cultural college.

Good Roads association met here to-
day in annual convention with sever-
al meu of national prominence present.

Sequoyah Club
The regular meeting of the Sequoyah
club will be held next Saturday De-
cember 8 at three o'clock with Mrs.
T. J. Farrar. Mrs. Blakeney will lead
and will read a paper on the narra-
tive of thedrama Midsummer Night's
Dream. The following ladies will
read papers on the characters of the
drama.

The city council failed to meet last
night there being no quorum present.
An adjournment was therefore taken
to meet again subject to the call of
the mayor. A meeting will probably
