While semi-official rumors were
being circulated as to the proposed
absorption of the Frisco system by
the Rock Isla.id President Yoa-
kum was preparing a coup where-
by the Chicago and Eastern Illi-
nois would become a Frisco prop-
erty. The completion of the deal
has now been announced.
The deal covers the payment of
$250 for each sharof common and
$150 a share for preferred stock to
be paid for in stock certificates
according to a reliable statement.
These certificates are based on a
Jnicago and Eastern Illinois capi-
talization of ; $18000000. The
stock has been deposited with a
trust company the name of which
has not been officially stated.
These certificates are guaranteed
by the Frisco paying 6 per cent
on Ibe preferred and about 10. per
cent on the common enough of
which will be issued to pay about
4 per cent.
The deal gives the Frisco a dis-
tinct advantage over any road ope-
rating in the southwest.
