R. E. Thompson and M. G. Hawkins
returned last night from a trip to the
Dewey oil field. Mr. Thompson has
one lease with three wells on it that
iis paving him a good dividend. An
other well will be put down soon.
Henry Crouch put in a yearling filly
with I. B. Crouch & Son. who shipped
nine head of saddle horses to Chelsea
yesterday and will join them at Chel-
'sea next week and go so Oklahoma
1 City to the state fair.
I Miss Bertha Stanley is here from
Baxter Springs. Kans. to locate. She
is a music teacher and composer of
' "Cabbage Rag" "Touchy Kid" and
'Uhcle Zek's Melody Rag." all of
which she has placed on sale at Pat
ton's music store. She already has a
'class of sixteen and will no doubt do
well here as this is a musical town.
E. I.. Hollaway uncle of A. Stola-
barger will arrive from McKinney.

Isaac Garber. post master at Pensa-
cola was in town today and says Pen-
'sacola is coming to the front too just
the same as other towns along the M.
p. & G. Pensacola was the first town
on the road to be laid off into town lots
and sold and was backed by James S.
j Wilson the millionaire farmer from
Kentucky.
I Mr. Garber was the first man to
build a house at Pensacola. He mov-
ed his store and postoffice from west
of Cabin creek over to the new town
about a mile and a half distance. He
.-; Mr. Wilson who is in Kentucky
will be bak soon and will immediately
In-gin laying cement sidewalks and
booming his town and it is a sure
thing if the other towns along the M.
O. & G. heads Mr. Wilson in building
a town they will have to get up and
tattle. There is several other busi-
ness houses there and J. H. Blanton
of Ketchum has let the contract for
building a large store building which
will be occupied by A. A. Carselowey
as a general mercantile store.
