the same day there was also trans-
mitted a copy of an agreement be-
tween the commission to the five
civilized tribes aad the Cherokee
tribe of Indiaus April 9 last to-

deem it of great importace that
legislation be had refpecting said
agreements at the present session
of congress in order that a final
settlement of the affairs of. said
tribes may not be delayed or em
barrassed by the uncertainty re-
sulting from non-action by con
gress.
Represtative Curtis said this
afternoon: "Both treaties will
undoubtedly be ratified before
congress adjourns. They will be
taken up by the house as soon as
the anti-trust measures have been
disposed of."
The house adjourned till 8
o'clock tonight when in it is ex-
pected the agreements will pass

Democratic Clubs Requested
to Show their Strength
To the presidents and secretaries
of thfl democratic clubs in the
Indin Territory:
It is very important that the
rolls of all democratic clubs should
be in the hands of the executive
committee several days before the
convention meets at Ardmore June
11 in order that a preliminary roll
may be made out showing the
number of clubs entitled to repre
sentation in the convention and
the number of voles each club is
entitled to. This roll requires a
great deal of work and unless the
rolls are in the hands of the ex-
ecutive commiitee on or before
June 9 it will be impossible to
have the work completed. You
are therefore earnestly requested)
to make out your club roll to-
gether with a list of delegates and
have it sworn to by the president
and secretary and mail the 8atr6
