Jess Harlan and Harry Iligley left
last night for Oswego Kas. where
they will spend one day and then go
from there to Livingston Montana.

out to make their own way in the

them much success.
Stolen Valice Found.
A large telescope filled with under-
clothing that would fit a woman and
child was found broken open in the
Ix'd of the creek at the Frisco crossing
of Pull creek east of town this morn-
ing. The valise had evident ly been
stolen from the train or from the
depot platform. The clothing was
clean and fresh laundried and that of
the child was for a girl five or six
years of age. A tablet and a quantity
of envelopes were found among the
effects.
More Delay.
It is stated here by parties who
ought to know that there is little
likelihood of the Cherokee land otlice
opening lefore the present session of
congress closes one or probably two
months. In the senate have len in-
troduced two amendments affecting
Cherokee lands that will not be dis-
posed of until the session closes and
it is not likely that the land office
will be opened tint i! they are out of
the way. One is relative to the pay-
ment of Delawares for improvements
and the other is relative to a segrega-
tion Phoenix.
