STILL GUESSING
Are The DowningCouncillors
Elect on Where They
Are At.
TERRITORY MASONS.
Grand Lodge Elects Officers and Ad-
journs at Uurant.
PLEASE BE GOOD
Say Thy to Davis But The
National Senator Hums Softly
"Just liefore The Battle
Mother" and Looks Wisely
at the Calendar.
The Downing dream book is ful
of nightmares tbeee cummer days
Senator Davis dropped in town
yesterday for a few hours and no
new edition was issued after bis
departure.
The national leader bad a bunch
of ultimatums on tap that caused
no ray of hope to shimmer through
the thickening; fog of fear that
hovers over the beads of the
Downing councillors-elect from
Delaware district. It is all' be-
causa of their consuming desire to
eerve the nation in the coming
council at the customary per diem
wage. But Davis points back
ward and his finger rests on the
manuscript that registered the re
turns from Viniu precinct and
be eoflly tells them they are too
crude for politics and chore work
at home this winter needs their
attention. Pleading or purchase
be says will cot be considered as
the work entailed on the next
council will be legislative io char
acter and he does not want any
raw bands. And grief follows
with the knowledge that what
Davis murmurs in Tahlsquah
next winter will be recorded as
law.
Their exit from the council on
the proof of the cbapparal politics
that were in evidence at the Hoolie
BelLMaddox polling booth on
election day the aggreedve
national says is assured and
those whose seats are endangered
are now realizing that Davis holds
trumps and a razor.
Incidentally with the unseating
of the railroaded delegation the
nationals say that one Mr. Car
penter of Kansas will turn his
optics elsewhere in search of a
job as the $3000 promiced rake
off from the national treaeury for
wise suggestions is but a gold
brick that won't pay winter room
rent.
There are a few other Downing
promises listed as dead jenes for
the memorial services at Table-
qaah next November.
The Downing people say that
Davis has more swine in bis com-
position than Mr. Woods of Law.
ton fame as he should b content
with Lis own election and let oth
era have an equal show. Davis
eays the Downing people have bad
-a continuous show as the treasury
books sadly illustrate.
And thus it will stand until
November when something will
drop.
