SPEAKS WELL OF GUTHRIE.
Kind Words
From the
Democrat.
Ft. Madison
Colonel Roberts of tho Ft Madison
Uo.) Democrat visited Guthrie re-
cently This Is what ho says of the
Capital City In tho Domocrat:
Guthrlo Is all right being a com-
posite of tho old tlmos and tho now.
There Is a Scottish Rlto Masonic tem-
ple a beautiful edlflce that cost
$73000 and tho writer whllo In the
town heard tho old old song "Maggie
May." It came from a gramaphone
Jn a music store but It took him
back twoniy-odd years which was
further back than tho town goes 11
being opened In 1889.
There are plenty of good business j
buildings In Guthrie and business Is
good all round say tho merchants.
8oll In Oklahoma is p like Vir-
ginia's and make a beautiful soft
mud when It rains which It d i nil
of one forenoon. No streets In Guth-
rie are paved which seemed strange
considering tho size of tho place
12000 .and the amount of buslnew
done; but a good explanation Is that
large sums of money have been raised
for railroads an dother things that
necessarily precede paved Btreets.
Practically all of the business
houses are of brick many of them
Jargft and good looking. The city Is
boautlfully situated and will some
day be a most delightful place.
There are two good dally news-
papers one morning and one evening
both using the Associated Press tele-
"graphlc news service and giving com-
plete local and territorial news a3
well. The writer received courtesies
from the Leader people In the way of
being shown about tho city that ho
hereby acknowledges and hopes some
time to be able to reciprocate.
Cotton Is ono of the staple crops In
Oklahoma territory and Guthrie is
one of the main markets. The city Is
also the seat of the territorial govern-
ment. There Is no capital and prob-
ably will bo none till tho territory
becomes a state. The prevailing
opinion In tho territory seems to bo
that the present congress will not per-
mit statehood; that although tho bill
lias passed tho house it will probably
bo blocked in tho senate.

m IT is one of tho saddest things in life
I I I to sec a beautiful young girl Ian-
' guishing on a bed of sickness when
she should be strong and healthy filling
the home with the sunshine of htr happy
face. Somehow or othtT as tho mother is
the center of Uie Home the daughter seems
to bo its greatest joy or its greatest care.
A home with an invalid daughter is like a
hospital. The sufferer with ber pale
blanched face calls for every one's care and
sympathy. How different is the home
where a healthy girl sheds her happy in-
fluence and ministers to the comfort of
every one in a thousand pleasant ways.
It is rcmarkablo that so many women
will forfeit health and then suffer the con-
sequence of pain and sickness when it is
unnecessary. Women who enjoy this
greatest of Nature's blessings are liable to
forget that health can be easily lost by neg-
lect They cannot realize that the loss of
sleep a little cold or irregularity of habits
can result disastrously until they once suf-
fer painful menses. Menstrual troubles are
generally the beginning of women s trou
bles. The vitality is at a low ebb the
blood weakened the digestion disordered
WINE OF CARDUI
THE MOON BILL IS DOOMED.
No Hope of Relief For 5ndlan Terri-
tory This Session.
V.i ita I. T. May 24.- All hope of
the passage of tho Moon bill at thlB
session of congress has been practi-
cally abandoned by tho residents of
the Indian terriry. The measure
was expected to provide a temporary
relief from the present unsatisfactory
governmental conditions and Its pass-
age In the earlier dayb of the present
congress was confidently expected. A
lobby has been maintained at Wash-
ington in the interest o the bill and a
persistent fight mode to have tho
measure called up In tho house where
It was almost certain of passage.
Ono of the most earnest advocates
o ft ho bill has beon Mayor Fioldlng
Lewis of South ( McAlester who has
Just returned from Washington after
several weeks devoted to working for
tho bill. In discussing the prospect
of its passage at this session Mr.
Lewis said:
"When it was learned that Speakor
Henderson was preparing a calendar
of the legislation that would bo con-
sldered b ytho houso boforo any other
bills could bo brought up tho friends
of tho Moon bill used every effort to
induce him to give the bill a hearing.
The speaker's opposition to the bill
however was so bitter that no per-
suasion could Induce him to give the
territorial measure a place on tlje cal
endar. He promised that If the bus!-
ness he had arranged for the house
was transacted before adjournment'
the would consent to the hearing of
Uie Moon Dill.
"Mr. Knox was away rom .tho city
and Mr. Moon and other frlonds of
the bill did not feajthat It would be
safe to press the matter against the
wishes of the Bpeakor as his opposl -
tlon would Jeopardize the measure's
success. It was then decided to sub-J
mlt to the speaker's programme with-
out a fight and run the risk of secur-1
lug an opening to bring the bill up
In the last days of the Besslon. There
is no doubt that tho bill will pasB the
house If It can be called up in regular
order.
"Tho same men who fought the
statehood bill are enemies of the
Moon bill. The chances for success
in the senate are muoh brighter than
anticipated. I bellevo the measuro
would becoine a law if it was possible
to get It up before both houses. How-
ever If the bill can be called up and
pass the house in the closing days of
the session there is an excellent
nnce for its passage by the senate
at the short session."
Shylook's wonderful plea for jus-
tice his ducats and his daughter will
move the hardest hearts to tears. It
will be a sure euro for misers. Othel-
lo's pillow act will tame all Irate bus-
bands. Romeo's great rescue will
move to tears or laughter. Juliet's
tenderness is touching. Jessica's
winning ways are truly fascinating.

and she goes about pale-faced hollow-eyed
and haggard a piteous contrast to the
blooming health of her former plf. But
over 1000000 women have found health
again by taking "Wine of Cardui. As"a
regulator of the menstrual periods Wine of
Cardui has never been known to fail. It
has seldom failed to restore perfect health
even in the most persistent and aggravated
cases of weakness.
Hiss Ida M. Snyder of No. 535 Bergen
street Brooklyn N. T. has used Wine of
Cardui and she says it helped her inUr a
new life. Health to Miss Snyder is worth
a great deal. She is an attractive young
woman with intellectual attainments and
she occupies the position of Treasurer of
the Brooklyn East End Art club This
position marks her as a person of intellect
culture and refinement and it speaks highly
of the respect and trust her fellow women

"If women would civ more attention to
their health we would have more happy
wives mothers and daughters and If they
would use more intelligence in the matter of
medicines observing result they would fin J
that the doctors' prescriptions do not perform
the many cures tbey are given credit for.
"My life was a burden to me through pt
shteat Indication! anaemia resulted and my
friends thought I was an invalid for life.
But I would not give up and when I found
that prescriptions would not help me I tried
something else.
"In cotuultlng with my druggist he ad
vised McElree't Wine of Cardui and Thtd-
ford's Black-Draught and so I took it and
have every reason to thank him for a new
life opened up to mi with vectored health
and n only took three months to cure me."
Yon may secure the same relief as Mis
Snyder if you take Wine of Cardui as she
took it. Thcdford's Black-Draught is tht
companion medicine of Wine of Cardui
and it is a liver and bowel regulator which
assists greatly in effecting a cure. Go to
your druggist and buy a dollar bottle of
Wine of Cardui and a twenty-five cent
packags of Thcdford's Black-Draught and
take them in the privacy of your home. It
you take these medicines according to di-
rections the relief .and core is simple.
Some cases are cured quickly and others
take longer because the disease has ram
longer. Remember how Hiss Snyder took
Wine of Cardui and has health. Tb
same medicine are offered you today.
Will surely bring yon relief from
the suffering yon now endure.
Take it in your home.
