It is a great affliction for a woman to
have her fnce dufigured by pimples or
any form of eruptive disease. It makes
her morbid ami sensitive and robs her
of social enjoyment. Disfiguring erup-
tions are caused by impure blood and
are entirely cured ly tlie great blood-
purifying medicine for. Pierce's Golden
Medical Discovery. It removes from the
blood the poisonous impurities which
cause disease. It perfectly and perman-
ently cures scrofuloi's sores eczema
letter boils pimples and other eruptive
diseases whicn are caused by the blood's
impurity. It increases the action of
the blood-making glands and thus in-
creases the supply of pure rich blood.

The sole motive for substitution is to
permit the dealer to make the little
more profit paid by the sale of less mer-
itorious medicines. He gains r you lose.
Therefore accept no substitute for

E. T. Abbott the civil engineer tells
a good story about a German Mmill
proprietor of his acquaintance. The
sawmill man used refuse from the mill
for fuel. Tne mai hlnery was pretty
much back number and one day tlie
agent for a firm came to tne plant and
after locking it over told the German
that he would put in new and improv-
ed machinery for about ff.OOO which
A'ould reduce the amount of fuel used
one-half. While the fuel costing noth-
ing it required four men to provide it
and the German was assured that two
men could do tlie work after tho new
inaclilnory was Installed. It looked
like a good proposition and tho saw-
mill man gave the ngent an order. A
fow months after tho maohinory was
Installed the agent called again. Tho
German gave him a gloomy stare.
"What's tlie matter? Don't tio ma-
chinery do all I claimed for it? aske'd
tho agent
"You nbor I overlook somedlngs."
."What was that?"
"Vila it lakes only two men to han-
dle de fuel it dukes do udder two men
to huul away vat ve dtdn't use pefore
and a team besides." Duluth News-
Tribune. 1 nptliHClcil .lvlr.
Some time ago a man presented him-
self before the Liverpool magistrates
with the following tale-
"Me name is Patrick O'Connor an' I
lives at street an' I kanes hens in
my cellar but the water pipes Is burst
an' my hens are all drowned."
"Well my good man we can do noth-
ing for you; you had better apply to the
water company" was all the advice he
got.
A tew days later the same man ap-
peared with precisely the same tale.
"You were here a few tUy ago and
tijml vised you- to go to the watn com-
pany. Did you do so?"
"I did jr honors"
"And what did they sa to you?"
"They told me to kape ducks.!" Lon-
