Guthrie National Bank Commences
Proceedings to Recover From
Phillip's Bond.
The Guthrie National bank J. W.
McNeal president has commenced
proceedings In the district court to
recover on the bond of W. T Phillips
made through the Fidelity und Securi
ty company of Baltimore. The peti-
tion filed my thtf'tUtorneys of the bank
recites that the- defalcations by
Phillips aro $3156.12 and that the
company was paid ?110 to secure the
bank In the sum of ?100(M agulnst its
employee. Mi. Phillips. The bank
aBks for Interest on this amount at the
rate of 7 per cent from December 8
1900. It is claimed by the Fidelity
and Security company that It went on
Phillip' lnd as a bookkeeper not as
a paying teller.
Governor Barnes yesterday aftor-
nooii issued a pardon to C. C. Hoag-
land. sentenced from this county in
1807 to six years in the Lansing peni-
tentiary for. horse stealing. He has
served four years of his sentence.
J. Hobbs sold a Duroc hog at Col-
llnsvllle for which he received $40.08.
Tho hog weighed 790 pounds.
