The convention adjourned until 2 p. tn.
in order to allow the commutes time to
report.
The convention was tailed to order by
Chairman Ferguson and the Henneseej
oornet band favored the delegates with
some fine music.
The committee on credentials was ask-
od to report. Chairman Strang reported
that thero wore no contests and the re-
port was adopted and the delegates were
al seated.
A motion was made to authorize the
delegates of each delegation to cast
tlie voto of the entire dologatlon.

the fulfillment of every republican pledge
made to the nation in 1896 and their
happy frultitlon but also over the cer-
tain carrying out of the free homes
pledge made by the republican party of
Oklahoma In 1S0S and prior thereto over
tho passage of this benollcient measure
through the lower house as a result of
the tireless efforts of our delegate In
congress Hon. D. T. Flynn whose ef-
forts will be un flagged until final success
crowns them by the signature of Presi-
dent McKinley anil a ro-lnstatement of
the homestead policy Inaugurated by the
republican party In 1801 and we extend
our hearty thnnks to tho members of
congress who so generously assisted our
delegate in securing tho passage of tho
free homes bill.
Fourth We earnestly request our dele-
gates to the Philadelphia convention to
use every effort In their power to bring
statehood for Oklahoma with such con
dltlons and additions as congress may
dewn best.
Fifth Tho delegates to the Philadel-
phia convention aro directed to presont
to that convention the name of Hon.
William iiimes as national committee
man for Oklahoma.
Bixui we neartuy approve ami re-
quest the passage of the house bill In-
troduced by Delegate Flynn creating a
county out of vage and ICaw reserva-
tions. We .further request the speedy
allotment and opening of al! the Indian
reservations in Oklahoma as having a
tendency to more speedily make citizen
of our Indian population and consequent-
ly hasten statehood.
