Scrlppa-McRao Leaeua.
Washington Jan. 0. Representa-
tive Knox of Massachusetts chairman
of tho house committee on territories
has called a meeting of that commit-
tee for today. One of tbe bills which
will be taken up is Delegate Flynn's
Oklahoma statehood bill Flynn said

facts in its support. "Ip the election
of 1800" said he "53.000 votes were
polled and in tbe congressional elcc.
tion last year tbe total vote was 48813
with an enormouB stay at homo vote
Tho poll made by the congressional
committee in chargo of the campaign
showed that there were some 87000
voters in tho territory.
Take the vote of last year howev
er and it will show that Oklahoma
polled more votes than were polled
for both representatives from Florida
and all their opponents; 20000 more
than all the candidates received in
Idaho; 40000 more than were cast in
Nevada; more than were cast in Mon-
tana Rhode Island North Dakota
Wyoming Deleware and South Caro
lina.
" Iu both congressional districts of
Rhode Island last year the total vote
was 15003. Our total vote was 10000
more than this yet Rhode Island bus
two representatives in the house and
two senators. Vermont's 3tal vote
was 51083 and you see we pushed that
state also. Delaware polled 85013
while the total vote. In tbe seven con-
gressional districts of South Carolina
was about 98000. Sbuth Carolina has
two senators and seven members.
Oklahoma baa a repretontativc but he
is not entitled to a vote in the house.
I shall lay nil these things before the
committee on territories."
"Oklahoma Is growing in more ways
than one" ha continued. "The other
day I met a man who was onoe one of
my friends and managers in Oklahoma.
