This the last day of the voting con-

beou fraught with interest Tho
amount of interest and rivalry in this
contest has been truly remarkable.
Only three candidates are now con-
sidered to be in tho race Misses Jami-
son and Lauz and Mrs. Ardcry. The
expected "dark horso" up to this
writing has not materialized.
It is estimated that over 75000 votes
were cast today. Douglas' jowolry

The poIIb will close promptly at 6

A man who claims he has kept tab

Mrs. Ardcry 105000.
MIsb Laux 88000.
Miss Jamison 71000.
Another man equally as confident
has figurod out tho Tcsult as follows:
Miss Laux 72000.
Mrs. Ardery 70000.
Miss Jamison 30000.
Still another figures this way:
Miss Jamison 64000
Mrs. Ardery 02.000
Miss Laux SB 000.
Hut no one knows how the result
may be until tho count is completed
Suffice it to say that all three of these
ladies may feel highly complimonted
over the warm support given them by
their respective friends.

stories regarding my removal from
office on charges filed at Washington
I have nothing to say. Too much has
been said already The charges are
in the Interior Department and have
been there for months. Thousands of
charges against the federal officials
throughout the United States are also
there. I talked with President Mc-
Kinley while in Washington. The in-
terview was extremely pleasant. No
mention was made of the charges
against mo. I also had a long con-
versation with Secretary Hitchcock.
He is very pleasant gentleman in
deed In the east they are talking of
little else save Dewey New York is
jammed with people."
