mony was strongly In favor of the ac

the foreign syndicate' reported to
havo been formed to fight for Dreyfus'
freedom.
He admltcd frankly he had no basis
for the statements. Cordicr testified
that onco ho believed DreyfuH was
guilty but latorho was convinced that
there was no proof of guilt and that
certain facts pointed to his innocence.
The sallies of Cordicr provoked
frequent laughter in whloh Dreyfus
