The county surveyors of Oklahoma
are giving out the following warning
to the residents of tho various eouu-
ties:
"The penalty for moving or disturb-
ing any landmark monument or cor-
nerstone is $S00 or one year In the
county jail or both. Road overseers
and persons who have been doing the
grading on our public highways have
been very careless about this matter.
Owners of these lands should direct
tbelr altentton to protecting the corner
stones aud landmarks that mark the
corners of their lauds: also have those
located which are in dispute disturbed
or entirely gone A corner cannot
always be located by accurate ineas
urement and transit work because the
original survey is not free from errors
or mistakes yet these corners or points
ure and must be cousidered the correct
marks."
