issued to the bors today. Wc received
our binnkots and utensils yesterday.
Our provisions are poor and not or tno

it started without any surprises iu tho
way of desert.
The Indian Territory troop has not
arrlred but will bo hore In tho morn-
ing. Two fights havo been recorded with
no serious results. The boys are all
training up and look ltko Indians. It
Is very warm here.
The first sorgoant is a good follow
and Is liked by all tho boys. Tho
Harvard and Yale boys have boon dis-
tributed among the various troops.
Private Thomas is still at the hospital
but in no dangor and will be up to-
morrow. Monday Is the day sot for our trip to
Galveston. Water call is sounded aud

Wo are drilling very hard now. Wo
havo had two squadron and ono regi-
mental drill. Our troop is the "base"
troop (you know what tho "baso"
troop is) and wo have always been on
tho lino in regulation shapo on timo
and confidentially wo were tho only
troop theie. The major has on euoli
occasion taken groat pains to inform
the oillcers of all tho troops but ours
whore their places were and what
their dutios woro. Somo of our boys
thought we were slighted nnd risked
mo why the major did not explain to
us. Tho sun Is extremely hot and
drills aro more burdensome to those
of us who have not had outdoor oxor-
clse for a fow years. Wo aro all get-
ting seasoned howoror and nono of
us has yet shown weakness.
Wo aro all in lovo with our colonel
and major; they aro both built on the
right plan.
Our horses aro tho roal thing. They
aro certainly the best in camp.
Captain Huston Lieut. Schwltzer
and I aro woritlng han't endeavoring to
be competent to hridlo our troop.
Wo want our govern jr and our friends
