Two men hold up and robbed the
O'ICeene-Uennessey stage and mall
yesterday about 2 o'clock. The stage
was about three miles west of Lacy
in a heavy jack oak tlmbor when the
bandits stepped from tho timber and
demanded the driver to hold up his
hands onforclng their order with two
Colt's revolvers. Tho driver obeyed
and stepped from his stage and was
searched and relieved of SIS but man-
aged to save a rail of bills containing
972 which h concealed in his hand-
kerchief Tho robbers then cut the
United States mall sack and abstracted
four registered letters value unknown
and ordered tho driver to drive on
then mounted and rode away. The
glutted stago was driven to Lacy
where officers were notified and a pur-
suing party organized. Tho last ac-
count shows that the two bandits aro
being closely followed with every
chance for a capture tonight. The
supposition Is that the men aro part
of those that recently escaped from
the Guthrie jail. Ry a lucky chanco
the stage contained no passengers.
