A large and harmonious mooting of
the citizens and taxpayers of the otty
and county was held at the probate
court room last night in responso to
the call of the president of tho Okla-
homa State Fair association Mr. II V.
Herkey to devise ways and moans for
the furlhc holding of stato fairs and
to take Into consideration the oondt-
tlons clustering around the conduct of
the last fair. Over 100 gentlemen wore
present some good specchos wcro
made and harmony prevailed. Com-
mittees wcro appointed for various
purposes by the chair and a memorial
by the citizens of Uulhrio to congress
was drafted petitioning that august
body for a donation to Guthrie of the
grounds now hold by the State Kulr
association. This memorial will be
forwarded to Delegate Dennis Klynn
and a copy will be sent to every mem-
ber of congress.
The oit'zens propose that the fair
shall be a permanent Institution and
that It shall be conduotoJ on practical
business-like linos. Another meeting
of the stockholders will be held next
Monday night.
