Mnndlug about the platform when at
11 o'clock the meeting was railed to
urdor and all Joined In the grand old
hymn Coronation.
It was an inspiring sight to watch
the various Sunday schools arrive
uomtng In processions as most of them
did. First came Lawrlo Hying a beau
tiful hand-painted silk and plush ban-
ner from the foremost wagon. Tiicu
aamu Pleasant Valley with a doaen
loaded wagons and bearing aloft a
banner bearing on one sido the name
of the school on the other "In God
we trust" "He is our guide."
Fairvlow came with two Immense
hand wagons drawn each by four
horses and their banner bearing the
iuurlption "Workers for .losus" while
u number of buggies and wagons fol-

sohool and the baskets of dinner.
Oak drove urrlvod in fifteen wagons
singing as they came. "Open the door
for the children" and Hying a banner
Inscribed 'Oak lirove Sunday School"
and on the roverM "Jesus sitd unto
them follow me."
The hist and greatest procession to
arrive wus Summit View coining in
twimty-llve wago.is each containing
from six to twenty persons with ban-
ners Hying and a martluil of the day
on a spirited charger.
Talloro Stoneypolnt Manner We'
uome Mulhull uud several other
schools wore also represented by large
delegations.
The exercises of the day were opened
with prayer by 1 F. Lafferty follow-
ed by an admirable address of wel-
come by S. P. Athcrton prosldent of
the association. Songs by several
Koiioots followed and Fred L. Wennur
of Guthrie secretary of the Territorial
Sunday School Association addressed
tlio convention on "How to plant a
Sunday school and how to make it
grow" a plain practical talk on the
line of worU that could be done in
every county district.
After another song or two dinner
was announced and such a dinuer as it
was tubs clothes baskets dry goods
im.xes baskets and ovoti whole wagon
boxoe packed full of viands that would
tempt the appetite of the sourest of
dyspepttas and it was brought out
hnreud open and dispensed with the
opuc-huartcd lavish hospitality so
characteristic st Oklahoma people as
ubundant and as free as the gospel.
Nobody went away hungry and there
were loads of delleaclos left tin-

ontertalued for two hours with songs
by the various Sunday schools and se-
lected elawes and recitations and dee-
Ift.natlone by representatives of each
faeuool both the singing and the other
jwrt be'ng far above the average of
tneh occasions.
Following this camo an add res on

Since that time we are able to truth
fully say thnt the God who helped us
so wonderfully in Oklahoma has given
us even a greater victory in '..his place.
One hundred and twenty-two souls
have been converted and are leading
.straight and upright lives. Also sixty
have knelt ut the altar for pure hearts.
Not only does Christ want his people
to obey him but demands that his
followers work and pray without
ceasing and we have proved that it is
possible to do it by his lie) p. Not only
do wo sirg 'Huseue the perishing care
for the dying" but wo go out aftor
them in the strength of Jehovah and
bring them lo his feet for God has
suld "Whatsoever ye shall ask In my
name that shaU ye receive" and it
does not matter what the lost ones
may say abiut us yet God will melt
the hardest heart unit Oil It with his
love For we read that he came not
to call the righteous but the sinners to
repentance.
We can look bark with pleasura and
gratitude to th i citizens of Guthrie for
their kindness toward us while there
and also to the editor of the Dally
Leader for his kindness and since we
have come here we have to say God
bless the people of Emporia for their
sympathy and words of cheer both in
word and In print.
We are believing for greater victory
in the future than wc have had In the

Mr. Leader man you can know-
that I was greatly surprised ut my uu-
looked for appointment to such a high
and responsible position Mayor Hit

judgment Out cannot say as much for
his Democracy.
My object in writing to yonr well
known journal is to make public mv
resignation. The nupolntinent was
published; therefore I think the resig
nation should be published. I have
never had any aspiratious to be a po-
liceman. I prefer continuing my resi-

for me. May Houfrow City prosper Is
my prayer
I feel that I cannot be too profuse in
thanking Mayor Itltterbusch for the
honor conferred upon me If It was
all intended for a joke I must admit
was a rich one as refreshing as a shib-

So many fakes are on the road that
when a genuine show of any kind is in
the city It is rarely patronized us the
people expect it too to be a fake. Hut
a visit to Eden Musee yesterday after
noon satisfied a Leader reporter that
it is an Institution which would be
highly appreciated by everyone who
attends. The musee undoubtedly con-
tains the finest wax work ever seen
here Just inside the entrance is a
man sitting in a chair apparently
asleep and to incline that half the peo-
ple who pass start lo speak to him
A representation of a scene in a Turk-
ish hnrem is presented in which the
figures nre so natural us to appear
ullve. Tho "pride of the harem" is an
especially tine piece of work the fig-
ure being made to appear more life-
like by u mechanism causing the
bosom to rise and fall us in breathing.
Among other figures is one of France's
assassinated president Carnot that is
line. The old French guillotine Is
represented and a number of famous
and historic incidents ore ill ustrated.
The Musee is well worth the time
spent in passing through and the
small price of admission is so nominal
us to maUo it within the reach of all.
This is the only first clnss exhibition
of tho kind ever brought to the city
and should be attended by all.
