The -'Euohronia" society of the
high school gave an interesting
program at the Carnegie last eve-
nine beside several interesting
musical numbers a short farce was
given that was greatly enjoyed by
the audience.
The Elks dance to have been on
next week has been postponed till
the following week and. a number
of Elks will attend the dedication
of the "Elks Home" in El Reno
which will take take ulace on the
comine Tuesday.

Thursday evening at

handsome presents. . After a few
interesting eames a dainty lun
cheon was served.- Those who en

The following clipping taken
from the Galveston News will
probably be of interest to the many
friends of Mrs. Ed F. Johns. "One
of the most pleasant events in the
social world during the holidays
was the entertainment g;ven yb
Mrs. L. D. Amsler and Miss Ifar-
ryette Mayo on Saturday afternoon
in honor of her guest Miss May
Bowers of Chattanooga' Tenn.
Miss Will Tompkins and Mrs. Ed
F. Tohus of Chickasha. I. T. The
numerous and elaborate festivities
of the week reached the climax
when these gracious hostesses ar-
ranged for the entertainment of
their friends a pleasant afternoon.
The morning dawned bleak and
gloomy. Heaven's flood gates
seemed to open to pour its contents
npon the earth but as the hour ap-
proached for the arrival of the
guests the inclement weather be-
came very favorable until at last
old Sol burst forth in all hjs glory
filling with gladness the hearts of
tnose favored with invitations.
The interior of this lovely home
was adorned with brilliant Christ?
mas decorations. From every
nook and corner and in festoons
upon the walls hung holly moss
bright red streamers and merry
Christmas bells. In one corner of
the room stood a beautiful holly
tree reaching from floor to ceiling
still laden in abundance from Santa
Claus's pack. Everywhere the
Christmas spirit pervaded even to
the refreshments. The second
course of an elaborate menu was
ice cream served in boxes of the
exact size and representation of
cannon fire crackers in which a
tiny paper fuse was inserted and
lighted. Besides these -on the
plates lay three torpedoes which
proved to be salted peanuts in-
closed in tissue wrappers."
The Equal Suffrage Club held
an unusually interesting meeting
on last Monday night at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Cook. The
central thought of the program
was "Individual Enlightenment is
Necessary to Natural Wisdom."
A spirited discussion followed upon
the value of a compulsory educa-
tion law and whether it should be
one of the first law's in our new
state. A difference of opinion
among those present showed that
much thought had been given the
question. Other talks were given
and th question of an "Education-
ul Qualification for the Voter" and
"Would Women on school boards
increase the efficiency of schools?"
Upon the latter question all pres-
ent were unanimously in the affir-
mative. An excellent program
will be ready for the next meeting.
