The city council shonld begin
to think and act on the question
of water works. The city is in
imminent danger from the at all
times and we are without tbf
least protection. Companies are
here waiting to put iu ihe works
if they can make any reasonable
contract with the city. It should
be done and that speedily. It is
almost criminal carelessness to
allow the matter to drag on in
the way it is doing.
There will be more railroid
building in the present year in
the Indian Territory than there
has been in any previous year.
Several charters in the Territory
will expire unless some buil ling
is done and these charters are
now worth almost as much as the
road will be worth when built
and the owners of them cannot
afford to allow them to lapse.
Then when the territory is tinalh
opened tip and settled up it is
going to be a veritable harvest
field for investors.
