FUND FOR BUILDINGS
' NOW READY
fOontlnnert -oni .Pago OnA.)
&:v. ooo..
In speaking of the matter .this
morning. President Austin said: "It
is my opinion that tho state board
will fake action on the matters at
once. I haw been assured that they
v ill not lose a day but will take im-
eiediale steps la start actual wor!r
on the buildings here. They will I
believe push the proposition with
energy.
"It is impossible to state at th:
time just when actual construction
o tho buildings here will start It
is my opinion however that it will
not ho long and that the buildings
v. ill be ready for occupancy by Sep-
tember so that we will occupy them
at the next school year.
"The buildings will consist of an;
addition to Nellie '"irks hall which
cost about $.10000. It will be a
wing extension west from the pres-
ent building and will be uniform in
construction with the present rtonu'-
tory. The fine arts building accord-
in? to the plans will be constructed
at a cost of $."0000. between Nellie
Sparks hall and the administration
1 uikling. The plans for the - clornii
tory addition cal' for accommoda-
tion of 100 girls.
"This is one of the biggest things
that ever happened for the good of
the Oklahoma College for Women j
'.'.'lie heed of such bui'dhigs is a we'fl
known fac t. I believe that by the j
time the buildings are ready for oc-j
ei'pancy it wiil be easily possible
for us to fill every room of the dor-
mitory." The action from which the decis-
ion grew was an agreed case with
Attorney General Freeling as the
pbiintil'f State Auditor Howard as
the defendant and State Treasurer
W. L. Alexander as intervener.
