John Gribi chairman of the city
cemetery- board states that the board
is having a lot of trouble checking tip

to aid us in straightening out the rec
ords" said he "we want to ask all lot
owners to send us tho number of
their lot and block. This information

Two Golf Records Broken.
Playing in a foursome with "Spoof"
Murray against F. L. Slusher and Dick
Wootten Sunday Ford Witherspoon
made a score of 76 for eighteen holes
a new record I'or the course. In a
game yesterday Tom Phillips leaped
into the limelight with another record-
breaking stunt. Starting for hole No.
9 he drove his ball across the lake the
first shot and then gave it a blow with
an iron stick -which instead of send-
ing it toward the green caused it to
execute a neat circle and take a dive
into the water. Mr. Phillips is being
congratulated by his friends upon his
achtevment.'

vances in tho value of wheat resulted
today from wild rushes to buy which
accompanied a big broadening out of
export business. The market closed
excited at nearly the topmost figures
reached. Net gains were 5 3-8c to 7c
a bushel with December $1.C3 1-8 to
$1.61! 1-2 and May $1.61 3-8 to $1.64
3-4. Corn finished 1 3-8c to 3-4c. In
provisions the final range varied from
."c decline to a rise of Uc.
New York Cotton. '
New York Oct. 17. A renewal of
excited general buying sent cotton
prif about $2.00 per bale higher in
the market here during today's trad-
ing with March contracts selling up
to 18.31c or 43 points above last night's
close and more than $7.00 per bale
above the low level reached on the
decline of a week yesterday. The
market closed at IS. 27c with tho gen-
eral list closing very steady at a net
advance of 35 to 3!) points for tho day.
