Busy people don't find time tu
attend to oilier people's business.
Vuiir own troubles are not halt
heavy when you help bear
those of another.
One reason why religion levivah
tluive in dull limes is the lack of
coni'ictioii in religion.
-While ordinary folks wade
through the mud - and use swear
words the sprinkler-man smiles.
The man who lets the weeds
groJV about his premises is not as
good a Christian as he ought to 1e.
Flattery is appreciated by none
but fools but words c" genuine
approval afford satisfaction to the
S-lisible.
Faith and the enthusiam that
grows out of it are as essential to
the prosjierity of a town as to the
sue. 'ess of an individual.
"Know thyself" is an old axiom
but many of us would think less
of ourselvts and more of our
neighbors if we practiced it.
Cranks have ihcir uses but for
the ordinary purposes of life the
man of common sense and honesty
is the most valuble citizen.
One week from tomorrow July
6 the democratic hosts will gather
iu St- Louis. If the party puts
quietus on the disorganizes am
gets together 011 candidates and
platform there is splendid prospect
for democratic success.
The Kxi'KKSs is in receipt of
litters everv dav from parties all
trie way from Maine to the Mississ
ippi inquiring concerning Chicka
sha and the surrounding country
They are seeking lands and busi
ness opixjttunitics of all sorts
livery indication points to a large
immigration to this country during
the next year. Chickasha cannot
fail In leap benefit from those who
come.
It was to be expected of course
but rather amazing vvhtn you
come to think a1xmt it the cool
way in which the republican plat-
form claims credit for all the achie-
vements of the nation iu the past
forty years. It is not hinted tha
in all the great movements of this
jcriod the democrats have played
a conspkuotispart. And Uventhere is
another point of view to consider:
During their long years of supre-'
macy ther is no telling what
calamitiis the republicans would
have brought upon the country if
they hadn't been restrained by the
influence of a powerful mi'iorlty.
The south has ri7en up iudigua- j
tion over the attack ujion it con-
tuined ill the republican platform.
It sees in the franchise plank an
effort to rripp'c the south in its
race for industrial supremacy and
its struck-for higher social and
political conditions. This policy
of reviving the ancient sectionalism
iu striking contrast with the policy
pursued by William McKinley is
the natural consequence of Roosc-
vellism and Hooker Wa-diingtonism.

md you may pass by all suffering
ind sorrow but in the comand-
meut to do unto others as you
would be done by you must relieve
sorrow. The one who brings this
Bible home to the people of the
nation is a patriot. Too often the
soldie r is regarded as the only
patriot. They are patriots but
the man who carries tthe Bible to
the people is also a patriot and he
is doing more for his country than

ORGANIZE.
The thing for the Indian Terri-
tiry Democrats to do is to orga
nize. Dont let enthusiasm die out
now that direct personal interest
has been eliminated by the selec
tion of a national committeeman
We hojie the new chairman of the
executive committee will call a
meeting of that bady at au early
date and that careful consideration
will be given to the matter of effect
ing a thoroughly efficient and har
monious oraanization of the party.
We want to make this portion of
the future state Democratic. We
can't do this by a little feverish
spasmodic effort at such times as
there chances to be a littly rivalry
cuiong a few aspirants to positions.
It must be done by continued ear
nest sytematic effort and its sue
cess will be made more certain by
theelimination of any real or fancied
private grievances and the union
of all interests in a common cause.
There is much work to be
done and ill his woik we
should have the assistance of
the national committee to some ex-
tent. To make this country dem-
ocratic is not simply a matter of
ojieniag the ballot box and asking
the people to come up and vote.
There is a campaign of education
needed prior to the first election
and we can best conduct this cam-
paigli through a compact organi-
zation every branch of which is
working iu full hamonry with all
other branches actuated by a com- '
moil puqiose and controlled by a
common desire. Vigorous action

mittee at this lime followed Up by

Continued activity from this time
until statehood conies is the price
we must pay for democratic success
'Political lethargy at this time
means political defeat in the future.
