now $2 250 outstanding and this

MRS. GASTON DEAD
Mrs. N. J. Qaston died Sunday
night at her home on F icrida ave.
between 3rd and 4th. She had
been ill tor some time. She was
sixty years of age and well known
in the south part of the city. The
fuuersi services tH held yester-
day afternoon. Rev. U. H. Ray of
the Methodist church read the
service .
A CHILD'S DEATH.
Last night at 9 o'clock the little
child of Mr. and Mrs R. L. Bryson
died at the family residence on
South Hill. The fnueral services
will be held this afternoon at 3
o'clock. The death of this dear
little one only seventeen months
old wis a sad blow to its fond par
ents and they have the united
sympathy of everyone.
SERIOUSLY INJURED

J. P. Vincent while playing yes-
terday morning on the platform in
front of the Swift Company brtild
Ing tripped and fell to the
ground. Two of the little fellow's
ribs were broken and be was inter
nally injured it is feared. The
physician attending him pro-
nounced his condition as serious.
TEXAS FEVER.
The Texas fever epidemic is play
mg havoc among the cows in and
around the city. Twenty-six cows
in one pasture have died recently
and various numbers in some other
pastures. Ben Hampton is report
ed to have lost several fine Here
fords and J. A. McGeehee lost a
magnificent Jersey Sundav night.
He does not believe it is Texas fe
ver as Ins cow was bred bere and
was thought to be aa immune. S
F. Glass is another unfortuuate
having lost a fine cow Snuday.
