make a good citizen and great and
useful man.
He worked his way through school
without a penny to start with. He
came from the humble walks of life
from poverty and obscurity but he
is honest clean capable and courag-
ous to a fault and if the new state of
Oklaho-na will elect such as he is to
fill her public offices she will prove
herself to be a great power in the
galaxy of states where she is soon
to take her place and will teach some
f the older states many good lessons
in the affairs of government and the
advancement of Amcican liberty and
institutions.

The summer numbers of McClure's
will contain an array of entertaining
reading that is particularly adapted
to the season. From an editorial an-
nouncement we find that there are to
be several new features presented in
eariy numbers. Among them the
most noteworthy in promise aa shown
by the first paper in the June number
are the Elien Terry "Memories."
There could be no more fascinating
reading than Walter Weilman's ac-
count of his preparation for a voyage
to the Pole in a flying machine to be
made in July. Weilman's article is
to be printed in June and July. It
catches the imagination like a dream
of the far distant future. Just con-
ceive it a vast cigar shaped balloon
nearly two hundred feet long whiz-
zing through the air suspended from
it by threads that look finer than
spun silk is a long steel car. In it
as it hovers hundreds of feet above
earth you can see four tiny figures
the crew pu.shing this lever and
that dropping the lead taking ob-
sevations end shifting ballast doing
the hundred things the complicated
machho requires.
"The Fight of the Copper Kings"
C. P. Connolly's amazing story of
Montana is to reach its climax in Ju
ly with the narration of the sensation-
. al struggle for the Minnie Healy mine.
In July also Carl Shurz' "Iteminis-
ceneces" reach their climax in the
"High Tide of the Rebellion" at Get-
tysburg stretched before General
T"'' :yes an I no spectator of the
battle was better fitted tlian It: to
become its historian. Georgine Mil-
