PAYNE COUNTY QOES POP
Tuesday's cold snap In Oklahoma Is
not moderating worth a cent for Dem-
ocrats who are still wearing heavy
overcoats. On the other hand the
Populists have shed their llannels and
ore trying to outdo Republicans in the
"claiming the earth" act.
Last night's returns from serernl
counties give the Hops grct hope and
Flynn will bo lucky if he receives
1000 plurality.
Repeated telegraphing has failed to
elicit a return of results from the fol-
lowing counties; M O (partial) Pot-
tawattomle Heaver Q. HIainc Wash-
ita Itoger Mills D and Day; with tho
ex. eption of two all are inland and
sparsely settled. However all par-
ties conccdo that Wisby has carried
all the six counties comprising the C
and A country. Republicans claim
300 plurality for Flynn in O county
und 200 in Hlaine. Flynn has carried
ten counties but the Pops are con
testing every inch of ground and
Chairman Vincent has instruoted his
committeemen to send in nothing but
official results.
Owing to the d flloult'oi cited above
nothing at all definite can bo gleaned
regarding the legislative candidates.
Official returns so far received give the
Democrats four icpreseutatlves and
four councilmqn; l.t publicans four
representatives and feix aounalltuon;
Populists three representatives and
one councilman
