Apache Imdians the last ot tbe
fiercest tribe in tbe southwest
have not advauced sufficiently
in civilization to forget'the at-
ocioos crimes committeed before
tbeir removal to the Fort Sill res
ervation from Arizona.
Yesterday afternoon three miles
north of Fort Sill one of the
members of the tribe killed and
scalped another member of the
Apache tribe and almost stabbsd
his squaw to death though at last
accounts the woman was yet alive
The soldiers of the fort have taken
the blood-thirsty warmer into
captivity and taken precaution
agaiust any further outbreak by
these blood-thirsty red men.
Owing to tbe incomplete com-
munication it was impossible to

dian has been killed and soalpsd
right hsre at tbe door of civiliza
tion within the shadow of the

used to do when the red men
were terrors to the settlers on the

Word has been received of a dis
astrous fire yesterday morning; at
tbe town of Harrison. Thirtv
two buildings in the heart of the
town were consumed entailing
a loss of $80000 with insurance
at about $05000. The first Nat
ional bank was burned but the
valut escaped injury.
