four-page letter signed by tho Grand
President K. H. Fitzgerald in which
ho reviews all wage proceedings
since the passage of the Cuminln'i-
F.sch Transportation act.
"When the votes have been tabu-
lated the Grand President will ad-
vise the chief executive of the six-
teen railroad labor organizations how
far thl brother-hood I ready to co-
operate" the letter says.
"There must bo no stoppage of
work prior to tho tabulation and an-
nouncement of this vote or In tho
absence of Inst ructions from the
duly accredited officers nj our
brotherhood and the laws of our or-
ganization must bo compiled with."

Altus. After an all-night hunt
five men alleged lobhers of a gro-
cery store at Duke near here were
captured Sunday near that town.
Two of them are slid to have con-
fessed. Three of the prisoners made
bail here but two remain In ail.

Furniture had dropped more than any other" article ex-
cept food and was only 1 per cent higher than that June
14 according to the report of the federal reserve agent of
New York City says the July isstie of The Grand Rapids
Furniture Record.
. The figures showing percentage of decline during 1921
for all commodities listed were as follows: Groceries 49
percent. Furniture 48 percent. Women's shoes 43 percent.
Men's shoes 38 -percent. Cotton dress goods 36 percent.
Women's suits 34 percent.
At the July markets held in Grand Rapids .and Chi-
cago during. July furniture prices reached the lowest level
in five years dropping back to almost pre-war figures. .
Our buyer attended the above markets at Grand Rapids
and Chicago last July and bought heavily of furniture on a
broken market. We have unloaded several cars. Buy at
