amount.
Here are aomo of tno bad point
which are to he Improved.
The street are Important place
in relation to school snd rentdence
and hhould b paved. It I not fulr to
tbo school children to go thru mud
and water to and from school on
rainy days. Sidewalks should bo
phiccd around the various places of
f.-M city. On very dark nights It Is
dangermu for peoplo to walk whe.e
there aro no sldewalkn 'becsuso cer-
tain obstacle are sure to bo In the
way. ChlckaHba needs more side-
walks. Chlikii'ha has gas but why
should Uilikaha not have natural
gas? If Oklahoma City can have
natural ga from Cementwhy not
Chit-kasha?
Cbicknslia ha good and Interested
societies-tbo American I'glon Is an
example. It Is a: organization that
we can bq proud of. But whore Is
the V. W. C. A. and Y. M C. A.
that wo should have? Tho young
boys and girls hnvo no place to
spend their evenings. Wo have as
many young nieu aud women as
other cities that hnvo them so why
should we not have ts':e-m?
Who can be as proud of their
sdioolK as we aro of ours? Our Jun-
ior High School is' tho finest and
best in the state. Our school 'build-
ings would bo perfect If -It were not
for tho Senior High. This building
needs .help. Instead of spending
money on nonnonft tthe people should
put their' iiiouey together and re-
model the ftigh school make It
equal to tho Jtlgn schools of other
large cities.
Whore are the perks which we are
to have? We ned a park systoni
we nhould huve park In convenient
place so that It will not be far for
the people to walk (those net having
cars ) We should beautify our rail
road stations so that people on
train passing thru will say a kind
word for t i when Uty reach other
cltle. .
Among the thing that we ihould
do are: Havn a general rlean-up and
beautify Chli-kaxlia avenue Improve
the city especially downtown ll
Uriels; garbage removal system;
plant gniH flowers and trees; clean
up yards; Improve the roads loading
Into Clilikanliu. We should have a
"paint and build" snovement; modern
apartment houses; an electric light
systi m and a big electric light sign
for tho city; amusement courts such
a baseball parks and tho like. We
should have a bettor itolophono sys-
tem. We expect our city to grow
and should have a syptom of street
markings.
It is predicted t.mt Chickasha will
be the next oil center; we should
prepare our city for this!
If we should win In tho contest
peoplo from other places would then
know our city was a roul-up-to-tho-tuliiuto
city this would Je advertise
ment for Chlckasha. Through it the
population would 1mi Increased and
new peoplo with new Ideas would
help to wake Clilcka.ilia the leading
city In Oklahoma! Wo want no
knockers but peoplo who' will speak
a kind word for Chlckasha. We want
boosters.
Good ntaton.
