Better freight rates for Chicka

fact to our jobbers and manufactur

The Anadarko Democrat is indig
nant Ijecause a member of the city
council was seen on the street in a
"disgracefully intoxicated condi
tion."
The fifteenth annual convention
of the United Workers of America
is in session in Indianapolis. The
total membership of the organiza
tion is 330000.
A republican row is on in Ohio
as usual. The Hanna crowd will
try to prevent the delegates to the
national convention from being in
structed for Roosevelt.
The publication of the list of im-
provements in Chickasha last year
was a revelation to many people
It was not to those who have
watched the town grow.
Prospects for statehood legisla-
tion are not growing brighter. The
latest opinion is that the house will
probably pass some sort of bill but
the matter will find a burial place
in the senate.
A bill has been introduced in con-
gress appropriating $50000000 to
be used in constructing roads
throughout the country. It is to
be divided Jamong the states and
territories according to their popu
lation.
and other we are able today to
present the following list of build-
ings and improvements made in
1903. The list is probably far
from complete and we shall be glad
if anyone will furnish us any in-
formation lacking in it
The year was marked by the
large number of dwellings erected.
It was also distinguished by the;
four magnificent school buildings
built and the splendid brick buih
iugs Chickasha avenue. Anion;
the latter is the stately three-story
structure known as the Whitetnan
building. It is a building which
would be a credit to any town. The
New Early Hotel is another build
ing that beserves special mention
It ranks with the best hotel build
ings in either of the two territor
ics. 1 he new elevators of the
Chickasha Milling Co. are also
among the notable improvements of
the year.
The following is the list in de
tail:

Perhaps the most convincing evidence of the
efficacy of the course of treatment administered
at Hot Springs Arkansas is to be found in the
fact that
Hot Springs
is the only health resort in the country which is
endorsed by the Federal Government.
All the springs are on Government property.
Tbe bath houses are under Government super-
vision. The Army and Navy Hospital is located
there. In all sorts of ways the Government testi-
fies to its belief in the healing powers of its
wonderful waters.

THE
ADVANTAGES OF
ELECTRIC LIGHTS
are so apparent that we are almost
ashamed to talk about them. Thev
stick right out like the nose of your
face but as Marcus Aurelius
might have said if he had thought
of it "If a man blow not his own
horn the same it shall not be
blowed." And our office lxiysays
ne 11 oe blowed it lie can sec w hy
we should hide our light under a
half bushel.
Ro to save argument we are will
ing to admit that there is no litrhf
tr at even approaches the electric
.ght in quantity of light radiated
a.i around t lie room.
The quality of the light you can
see tor yourself. Electric lights
give a strong clear vivid white
light. That is what is demanded
today pure white liVht and tlenlv
of it. '
If our points ate not clear to von
it is undoubtedly due to the fact
that yonr light is poor. If von
will put in a lull equipment of tier-
trie lights the whole subject will be
made beautifully luminous and we
will have. peace in the family.
