Election Proclamation.
Whereas. Oa the first Tues
day in April 1902 a general elec-
tion ehallbe held for tbe election of
city officers as is provided by law
and Whebeab; on the 18tb day
of January 1902 Honorable Hosea
Townsend judge of the U. fS.
Court within and for the Bonth-
ern District of the Indian Terri
tory issued an order changing
the city ol Chickasha from a city
of the second class to a city of
tbe first class and Whereas the
city council of tbe city of Chick-
asha subsequent to snch change
has provided for tbe election of
certain olficers at the said general
election on tbe first Tuesday in
April 1902.

Grigsby. mayor of Chickasha In
dian Territory in pursuance of
tbe authority vested in me by law
by tbe said order of tbe U. S.
Court and by the ordinances of
the city of Chickasha Indian Ter-
rtlnrv All thn first Tuesday in
April the same being the 1st day
of said month A. D. 1902.
There shall be voted for and
an elected by the qualified voters
of the city at such election one
Mayor one Police Judge one
City Attorney one Chief of Po-
lice one Clerk and Tax Assessor
one City Collector and one Treas-
urer who shall hold their ofHce
for a term of two years also two
aldermen from each of the four
wards of the city as members of
the city council which said aider-
wen shall be voted for and elect-
ed by tbe voters of their respect
ive wards.
The places of holding such elec
tion in the different wards of the
city shall be as follow: Ward

residence of L. D. Stone corner
' of Eight street and Idaho avenue.
Ward No. 2. In grocery store on
the corner of Cnickash-i avenue

Democratic Primaries
The democratic voters of the
City of Chickasha will on Tiies -
day March the ISth 1902 nomi
nte a ticket for the city officers
to be voted on and elected at the
resru'ar election on April the 1st.
The qualified voters will at such
primary vote fov and nominate as
candidates for election one mayor
police judge city attorney chief
of police clerk and tax assessor
city collector city treasurer and
two aldermen from each ward;
they shall also choose at the same
time two committeemen from each
ward to constitute an executive
committee of the democratic party
of the city of Chickasha.
Each person voting at such
primary shall vote the following
pledge: "I am a qualified voter
a democrat and will support the
nominees of this primary."
A poll li-t anu tally sheet shall

voting and all votes east shai. be
