Former Slave's Honorable Career.
At Douglass Gai Peter Vickers'
has recently subscribed $1000 to
help s?rsuade a railroad company to
build up to the town. This isn't re-
markable. The notable fact is that
Vickers was born a slave and that he
now owns 9800 acre of farm bnd
besides other real estate in three
Georgia towns. His bank account
and the esteem in which hii fallow
citizens hold him are large.
