Single statehood if not desir-
ablo to everybody is ibe lesser of
two evils and should be gladly
supported and forwarded by all
our people until they find that it
too is powerless against carpet
bag influence.
' Ohickash: Las made remark
able progress in the roaster of ne
curing tin backet brigades but
the success already attained in
this line should only stimulate to
rreaterendeavoi. The tin backet
brigade is the first essential to a
laree city. It not only means a
large city but a prosperous one
- The Express is distributing a I
laige number of sample copies of J
the caper to people who do not
take it now. It costs you nothing.
If after a week's trial you think
you want it we will be glad to I

sample copy costs nothing nor will
it be continued unless you sub

Supposing that Oklahoma and
the Indian Territory should be
made a state what name would be
given the combination ? In this
connection we want to suggest a
few names and get the mailer be-
fore the people. How would In-
dLtfjokla do? And what's the
matter with Oklaindia? Why not
make it Indiaboma or Homaindia ?
Who will suggest something better f
Pryor Creek Clipper.
The nanus suggested above are
all very appropriate as are a num-
ber of others that have been manu-
factured by the boys of the Terri-
tory tress but when statehood
does come either double or single
let's give it an Indian name strictly
and call it Kee-taw-saw-gee. This
name is derived from the last
sylable of the font principal nations
of the five civilized tribes. Then
rather than leave the smaller nation
out entirely it would be proper to
call the capital of the state Semi-
nole. This combination was sug-
gested to Enquirer by Miss Georgia
Scudder a talented Cherokee young
lady aud daughter of Mr. L It.
Scudder of the Canadian district.
Of all the names yet presented we
believe that Kee-taw-saw-gee is
the most appropriate and in honor
of a government that is fast being
extinguish we hope tbe name will
receive favorable considerati.n
when the time comes to christen
one of the future great states of tbe
southwest. Cbecota Enquirer.
A rose by any other name would
smell as sr.etL The future name of
the new state will be "Oklahoma."
