Washington Jan. 27. A "gentle-
man's court of honor" was today sug-
gested by Col. Wattersou to settle
the Harvey-WilHon-Watterson contro-
versy regarding Wattcrson's authori-
ty to solicit campaign funds for Wil-
son's boom.
Wattersou nettled by Wilson' de-
nial said in a let.ler to Senator Till-
man that he offers to furnish proof of
the disputed statement. He invited
Tillman to call and inspect Hie proof
or let Wilson appoint two friend:!
Wattersou two. the four lo select tho
fifth man to constitute a "court of
honor" to determine the issue be-
tween them.
Wattersou insisted that he had "the
goods" to back up his statement.
