High School Teams Will Contest
for $100 Prize April 20.
J A. Bohart chairman of the
entertainment committee for the
Stockmen's Convention has work
ed up a big base ball game for the
occasion. The Chickasha and Ok
lahoma City High School teams
w'!l play April 20 for a prize of
$100. It promises to be a hotly
contested game.
The Chickasha team is in splen
slid shape and they have been
scoring victories tt a lively rate.
Of the Oklahoma City team the
Oklahotnan says:
O. II. S. ha6 worked hard to de
velop a fast team that can play
ball up to their '03 standard and
they have succeeded in whipping
together a team that promises to
make a brilliant record.
The Oklahoma team is much
belter than last year and it will
try to avenge the defeats they suf
fered at the hands of the O. II. S.
last year.
O. 11- S. has played four games
so far this season and has won
three; two .of the victories being
hustouts.

An accident which seemed tri
vial at first occuring nine miles
south-west of town last Sunday af-
ternoon resulted in the death of
Jno. T. Dyche. Mr. Dyghe had
been out driving and when he
went into the barn to put up his
horses he received a kick in the
abdomen from a mule. The in
jury while painful did not seem
serious till Tuesday when a phy
fcician was called. On Wednesday
hi: condition was pronounced
hopeless and on Wednesday night
death came. General peritonitis
was given as the cause of his
death. The remains were brought
to this city and shipped to Man
batton Kas. for interment.
Mr. Dyche was twenty-eight
years of age. He was a prosper
ous farmer and was regarded as
one of the most substantial and
promising young men in the neigh
borhood. His death brought deep
sorrow to the community.

The commission refused to allot
any more of the land and asked
the secretary of the Interior to
give it power to set it aside and
sell it as a separate segregation.
The secretary agreed to the plan
and it was recommended to con-
gress but the conference commit-
tee decided against it. Lumber-
men have never been able to cut
timber in the Choctaw nation and
now that the land is to be alloted
there will be opened at once a
great lumber industry in that na-
tion. In appraising this land a
price was scf upon it and an ad-
ditional value given on account of
the timber which will be taken in-
to consideration when the Indians
select their allotments and which
will cut a big figure in the amount
of land each one receives.

Criticism ot Roosevelt
Civil Service Commission Reports
President for Violating Law
Washington April 8 Ground
for criticism' against President
Roosevelt for suspending the civil
service law and appointing persons
without requiring them to pass an
examination is laid in a report sent
to Speaker Cannon today by the
civil service commission.
Little attention would be paid to
the matter except for the fact that
the president is the foremost civi
service reformer according to his
pretensions in the U. S.
The report of the commission to
the speaker shows that President
McKinley suspended the law three
times to make appointments with
out requiring .the applicants to
take an axamination and that
Roosevelt has suspended the law
sixty times to appoint persons or
allowing their promotion without
having passed an examination.

A Word From 6 D. Gssfli
I am 4S years of age. Have been
a sufferer with chronic headache
ever since l was tour years old
T!i3se who have had severe head
aches can imagine what I have suf
fered all my life I have taken all
kinds of treatment but none did
any permanent good. I then decid
ed to try Osteopathy. I took three
months treatment from Dr. Ray
and I now feel that I am well. I
have recently been put to a severe
test in which I was exposed to
many irregularities but had no
symptoms of headache. The treat
nients also cured me of chronic ma-
laria and constipation. Osteopathy
as done for mem what other
forms of treatment failed to do. If
there are those who desire to talk
with me on the subject I will glad
ly tell you personally what has
been done for me. There is no use
for sufferers to be skeptics on the
subject while so many in Chicka
