This leaves but one date November

arranged for it owing to the lea-
days between the Kansas and TexaB

of playing Epworth at that time.
Heretofore the university has never
been able to get a game with the Uni-

part of the season but the close games
the "Sooners" have played the "Jay-

Infantile Paralysis
Washington Aug 19. "Infantile
paralysis is a misnomer and if the
epidemic which at present is playing
havoc with the children of WashiJg-
ton has been analyzed as such
analysis Is wrong" said Dr. John E.
Kuezxam of ibis city formerly of the
University of Pennsylvania.
"Infantile paralysis is Inherited and
not contagious" Dr. Hutzsam con-
tinued. "If symptoms of paralysis ap-
pear in a c-hild after it is four years
old it is brought about by borne in-
jury and has not been inherited.
"'The present epidemic haa been
caused by improper feeding of the
children. Alotners in summertime are
only too prone to give their babies ice
cream or other refreshments which are
too cold for the little ones. These
chill the system of the child which
brings about neuralgia and o'her
rymptoms which are stated to be those
of infantile paralysis
"Those children who are sutt-tng
with these symptoms are easilv c red
by a counter Irritant to the spine and
gentle muscular massage to stimulato
the circulation. I admit that opiates
are a. great danger to the health of
children but I consider that chilled
food is far more to blamy for the
present epidemic ' Even tuberculosis
is often brought about by the chilling
of the tubes. connecting the pharynx
and the stomach."
