A BAD CROSSING.
Ford on West Bitter Creek a Few
Miles From Chieka&ha Needs
Attention Badly
A few weeks ago Dr. Dawson
called tbe attention of the Express
to tbe condition of a ford on Wrest
Bitter Creek which was at that
time kd such bad shape that it
could scarcely be crossed. Tbe
Doctor saw a hcavjly loaded wagon
stalled in tbe ford and tbe driver
was uuablejto proceed either way.
This load of goods came to Chick-
asha when the driver finally got
out of tbe stream.
Sicce that time a numberof com-
plaints have been lodged againsi
tbe same crossing and the argu-
ment is made and very truthfully
too that uo town can expect farm-
ers to come to it for supplies over
almost impasbible loadc. Dr. Daw
son says a few wagon loadn of rock
properly placed would make this
a fairly good crossing and that i10
orl.j would probably cover the
entire expense. It has been mg-
gested that the Commercial Club
or some of our citizens who are in-
terested take this matter in hand
and attend to it after investigat
ing. Tbo crossing is probably in
worse condition sioce the recent
raind thau it was before.

J. P. Nbi1 owner of the Jersey

bandoome new wagon thic morning

wagon is a beantj and a Cue ex-
ample of what can tie accomplished

built and Tmisiied in red greet
and yeil'jw the words "Jersey

tractive littering on each side ot
the wagon. A pretty landscape
also adorns a panel ou each side.
The wagon was built by Mr. West-

penter while the painting was
done by Mr. Doughty.
Mr. Nail started the Jersey

How much public spirit is there
in Cuickasha?
Answer: Ask the Commercial
Club.
Some one stole a horse from
Frank James and Cole Younger's
Wild West show but then those
gentlemen know bow it feels.
Muskogee seems to want side-
walks too; tbe Phoenix says they
'would be appreciated." We'il
bet MuBkogee gets them first.
Somebody Baid that because Sec
retary Hitchcock did'ut leave bis
car tbo other night was because
Scott Jones was'ut there. Well .
A case where extremes meet
g rr at conpert in ye olden time'
and up to date people of the 20ib
century and in Chickasha too on-
ly ten years a oily.
The Missouri editor who says be
has "a tirst class Jpaper entered
as second cUss matter in n third
clasB post oliice" evidently does'ut
think it is read by a fourth class
public.
Secretary Hitchcock did come
but he only stayed 10 minutes and
did not leave his car. Hut per-
haps he knew he would want to
stay if he saw our city and did'ut
like to be tempted and have hU
wife wondering what had become
of bim.
Is Chicknsha going to be a biz
city and not make any provisions
for public parks? Tbe American
people and especially our people
need recreation ami parks are best
of alh Better begin while we are
young and when we get older we
will ba ve them.

Business In Chickasha.
Eilers "Ten Nights In a Bar
Room" which gave a performance
here under canvass last night did
about the biggest proportionate
business of aoy show here this
season not excepting the Floto
aggregation here the day before
Tbe company traveled in two hand
some Pulmau cars and carried the
best band heard bere this season
and this proved to be a splendid
advertisement for them. They
pitchd their tent on the Sawyer
lot in the rear of thj Trust Co
Bank and when nightfall came
after a few hymns by the ban i
commenced to pack tbe people ;v
None were turned away and stand
ing room was at a premium. Tbe
aiiles aud passageway? and every
vacant spot )u tbe tent was jammed
niih humanity and many a one got
a crick m his back before the per-
formance was over.
Tbe performance itself was very
creditable and pi used those
who coulu see It. But the crowd
was restles" and the order was
bad. i he Eilers are pleasant fc-
commodating gentlemen and good
managers and we Hope t int they
will come tbis wy again some

How To Be Healthy
And Beautiful.
Dr. Wr. R O. Latson M. D.
editor of the Health Culture
Magazine of New York makes the
following statement in a recent
scientifio discussion which is both
of interest and impoitauce to all
womankind.
''Face and form may be perfect
expression beyond reproach
but if the completion be imper
feet there can be no t Heel of
beauty.
"The functions of the kidneys
and of the bowels must be nor-
mally active if we would insure a
pure complexion Tbe proper ac-
tion of tbe kidneys may be usually
gained by moderate diet and free
water drinking.
'The same is true of the bowels
although in chronic constipation a
course of treatment with daily
enemas of warm water free exer-
cise and abundant drinking of
pure water may be necessaiy.
Constipation is a prevalent dis
order. Few will Buffer however
if tbe hints herein given are fol-
lowed. The best kind ot water is
distilled water aud the proper
quantity is about two quarts each
day. The principal cause of con-
stipation is insufficient water drink-
ing." Cbiokasha women should under
stand that tbe means are at hand
to become both beautiful aud
healthy and to avoid ail such
unnoying and distressing tlnean
such as Constipation T pboid and
Malaria fevers Indigestion Btom
ach troubles of all kinds etc. etc
