Will Visit Indian Country.
Washington Feb. 18. The
senate Committer on Indian
Affair contemplates a visit to
the Indian country of the south-
west during the coming recess
of congress. A resolution re
cently passed the senate authoriz
ing the committee to meet during
the recess. Its purpose is to per-
mit the committee to make an ex-
tended visit of Inspection to the
various reservations in the United
States No definite plans have
jet been made as to what reserva-
tions sliall be visited end none
problems confronting the com
mission.
The committee desires to ex-
amine particularly the school
system of the Indian service.
The Indian Commissioner has
been invited to accompany the
committee and if possible he
will accept the invitation. If he
is nnable to go with the commit-
tee it is bis intention to visit the
schools and agencies of the
southwest on a tonr of the ser-
vice which be is contemplating.
The tonr of the Commissioner
will be taken either in the spring
or fall if be is nnable to accom-
