Says Nation is
Facing a Crisis
Special by United Press.
St. Paul Jllnn. June 23. That the
United States is facing the most seri-
ous crisis n the history of the coun-
try was the declaration of W. O.
Browne president or the New York
Central in an address before the con-
vention or Minnesota Stale bankers
here today.
The speaker declared that Ihe fond
consumption of the nation was rapidly
exceeding production and gold produc-
tion was increasing so that its pur
chasing power was lieinK reduced.
That the development of farms was
the most imperative problem before
the nation was his conclusion.
The Edwin Bnrrie company did some
exceptionally strong- work in the pro-
duction of "Work and Wages" at the
Star theatre last night. The company
Is a really good one and last night
'hey proved themselves a little better
than the average in every respect.
Mr. Bayley and .Miss Duckctt were fine
last night while the comedy in the
hands of Miss Hardaway and .Mr. Sco-
ville was excellent. The "Strong"
scene in the t.ilrd act was particularly
effective.
Tonight the company will present
their feature play "The Land That
Cod Forgot." Owing to extreme heat
the company will be seen at the Air-
dome (heater tonight and the re-
mainder of the week. Judging fro.a
the apparent interest the people ire
taking in tonight's play the Airdome
will be packed at least it is hoped
so as the company Is a fine one and
deserves nothing but good patronage.

Every young man should be paying
01 a good business or residence lot.
It places him in better standing in the community and with
the banks and business world he is justly entitled to a great
deal more credit and responsibility than the fellow who does not
have title to a single lot. $ 1 0.00 per month is no heavy burden
to the average salaried young man these day s if he handles
his money right.
But if the gaming table the pool hall the cigar stand or the
bootlegger gets your surplus money you can never own a lot of
your own. It takes courage and real back bone to be a man and
resist the frivilous follies that capture your money and make
you a rent slave or a mere wage earner without where to lay
your head.
